David Cameron will probably win the next election for the Tories. We all know that. The next election, though, will be just as reliant on Labour's follies and Cameron's presentation skills.
Today, I received a comment on my "Political Views" post I made a few days ago, saying the Conservatives are against some of my beliefs. Of course, my beliefs are never going to fall completely in-line with Cameron's. Devolution for a start. I think devolution is the best way of ensuring the United Kingdom stays united. Cameron probably opposed it, going along with the official Tory line on the issue.
Everyone says Cameron will be in next time. Obviously, he's doing something right because my mother is actually considering voting for the first time in her life, and she says she'll vote for him. All his "tree-hugging" stuff will hopefully go soon after election. He'll do all his manifesto promises on it and that'll be the end of it all. Then, hopefully, we'll get to see the cold, uncaring, remoresless Conservative soul that we all know and love.
Let's face it though, the main reason people will vote Conservative at the next General Election is because they're sick of Two Shags and his co-horts. In the Commons, if you look at the Labour frontbench and the Tory frontbench, the difference is jarring. The Tories look young and ready for a fight, with Cameron grinning, Davis shouting, Hague laughing. Then, you look at Labour: Blair's face going red (and his hair grey), Brown staring into space, and Prescott falling asleep, waking up every now and then to shout something at the Tories.
So long as Cameron (if and when he wins) deregulatges, stops ID cards and stops the European Union banning Worcester Cathedral from playing its organ, then I'll be happy. All he has to do is grab his opportunities and keep his head above water.
