Worlds Apart

Went to the Cambridge University open day today, as well as visiting Oxford earlier this week. Seeing some of the stunning architecture made me realise that some of the colleges are on a completely different planet to where I'm from. To give an example, Jesus College has just spent an eyewatering £5 million on a new organ!

Granted, Michael Owen cost Newcastle eight times that much during his four years at the club, but the point stands.

It can be easy to lose touch with reality when you're studying there! You don't realise how spoiled rotten you are till you graduate and re-enter the real world ...

Thinking of applying?

Entirely depends on my AS results. If I get 3 As in the subjects I'm carrying into A2, I'll take the attitude that I've got nothing to lose in applying. But I didn't come out of any of my exams feeling confident, so at the moment, it's looking quite a long shot.
